About the Project
Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC), a leading downstream energy company headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, awarded ISC Constructors with a Substation Installation Project as part of its Garyville Refinery’s Substation Replacement Program. MPC sought to improve the electrical infrastructure by replacing single-ended and radially fed substations with new secondary-selective substations fed from its Main Substation. ISC worked alongside MPC to plan and schedule six different Construction Work Packages while developing the most efficient, technical path of construction allowing for minimal downtime and cost.
The ISC team supported the front-end planning effort and performed detailed quantity estimates to efficiently procure long-lead materials. When ISC began field execution, our skilled technical craftsmen delivered safe and quality driven installations and real-time constructability facilitations. Our team successfully replaced older equipment with an efficient, modern substation that maximized the capacity and production of both units with zero OSHA recordable incidents.
